The Internet provides a great deal of information (and sadly, mis-information). Over the years, we have found several web sites relating to the stock market that we can recommend
. A brief description of each, with links, is provided below.Briefing.com - Provides quality (live) market commentary. They do not just tell you the news, they explain why it is important. Geared to the knowledgeable investor. They offer ideas for investment - places to begin (not end) your research. Part of their site is free and part is subscription.
Interactive Brokers offers rock-bottom commissions with an excellent trading platform.
OptionsXpress appeals to on-line traders who have outgrown their existing broker's options capabilities.
DailyStocks.com - Good for charts, quotes etc. They provide links to many online sources of information.
For information on a specific stock, enter the stock symbol and click the "now" button. This takes you a page with additional links containing information about your stock.
