Learn by Doing

When it comes to education and learning, there is no single idea that works for everyone. I like reading because it gives me time to go back to the details – as often as necessary.

Others prefer live seminars because the information arrives conversationally. There is also the advantage of (sometimes) being able to ask questions of the speaker.

Still others prefer videos. This offers the best features of the two previous choices: going back for review and the conversational tone.

I recently heard form a trader who is just getting started with options. He prefers to learn by doing. It is true that certain skills cannot be mastered without practice: hitting a golf ball or making foul shots in basketball are two examples. But these are physical activities and we have to train our muscles, as well as our minds.

Thus, the topic for today:

Can you learn to trade options by ‘doing’?
